How do I register, log in, and log out?
Registration:
In order to help us serve you better and for site evaluation purposes registration is required. Registration is free and open to anyone. Complete this one-time process for unlimited access to the information and features on this site.
Setting Up Your Account:
In the right column on the home page, select the New User? Register link. Create your account by completing all the required fields on the registration form. Setting up your personal account only takes a few minutes. We ask that you create your own password for confidentiality. Once the information is completed, click on the "Submit" button. You may edit and review your account information at any time by selecting "Your profile" link in the right column on ‘Your Home Page”, making any necessary changes and then saving your information. Fields denoted with an * are required fields.
Editing Your Account:
You may edit your account at any time by clicking the "Your profile" link in the right column on ‘Your Home Page”, making any necessary changes and then saving your information.
Logging in:
Each time you return to the Prevention Research E-learning Centre you will need to log-in by entering your user name and password in the sign in box at the top of the right column on the home page. Once you have logged in, you will go to “Your Home Page” where the last page you visited will be displayed in the welcome box in the right column. You can click on this link to return to the place you left off, or navigate to a new section by using the links to course modules listed on Your Home Page..
Forgot Your Password:
If you forget your password, just click the "Forgot your password?" link on the home page under the login box. A dialogue box will appear where you can enter your email address. Type in the email address you used when you created your account and then click "Submit". We'll send the password on file for your email address.
Logging out:
At the end of each session, log out of the site by clicking on the "Log Out" button in the upper right corner of the screen. Note: after 1 hour of inactivity you will be automatically logged out and will have to sign back in to continue using the site.
What courses are available at the Prevention Research E-learning Centre?
Our first course, Microbicides Essentials, launched in June 2008. It is the only course available at this time. There are plans to add more courses in the future. If you would like to keep informed about additions to the E-Learning Centre, please be sure to opt-in to receiving follow-up information about the site.
Can I get CME credit?
US-based nurses, nurse midwives, physician assistants and physicians can receive continuing education credits for successful completion of some course offered on this site. CE credit is available for the Microbicides Essentials course.

Who is this site designed for?
This site is designed for trial staff, advocates, policymakers, and other stakeholders in the microbicides and HIV-prevention fields.

This course contains flash animations with accompanying voice over narration A text transcript also accompanies all audio critical to this site. Some video clips that are supplemental to the course content do not have a transcript supplied.

Can I pick up where I left off when I return to a course?
Any time you return to the Prevention Research E-Learning Centre and log-in. The last page you visited will be listed in the Welcome box on “Your Home Page”. To pick up where you left off, click this link. On Your Home Page you can also view the last page you have visited for each module.
What are the requirements for completing this course?
In order to complete the course, participants are required to pass each module test and the Course Test, and complete a course evaluation. In addition, CE users must also complete the Course Pretest. All users will receive a certificate upon successful completion of all the required material.
What is Your Home Page for?
Each time you login to the site, you will go to Your Home Page. Here you can see all the available courses, what courses you have begin, and what page you last visited. To begin a course, just click on a course or module name.
You can also access the Talking Points for each course module. These are a useful resource for reviewing key messages.
